Sauver Des Chiens is an all-volunteer, foster based rescue focused on saving dogs from difficult situations & finding permanent homes.
Who We Are
Our story
Founded in 2016, Sauver Des Chiens (SDC) is a volunteer-run, foster-based rescue dedicated to helping German Shepherds and other large-breed dogs who have been abandoned, neglected, abused, surrendered, or left behind. Primarily serving Texas and Louisiana, we believe every dog deserves the chance to feel safe, experience love, and find a family to call their own.
We focus on the dogs who are too often overlooked - the ones facing uncertain futures, struggling with medical needs, or simply waiting for someone to give them a chance. Through veterinary care, rehabilitation, training, and the dedication of our foster families, we work to help each dog heal, grow, and prepare for a successful transition into a forever home.
As a foster-based rescue, we don't have a traditional shelter. Instead, our dogs live in the homes of dedicated foster families who provide safety, stability, and the opportunity to rediscover what it means to be part of a family. Our fosters are the heart of our organization, helping us understand each dog's unique personality and needs so we can make thoughtful, lasting matches with adoptive families.
But rescue doesn't happen without a community. We are entirely volunteer-run and rely on the generosity of our supporters, donors, fosters, and volunteers to continue this work. Adoption fees help offset the cost of care, but they rarely cover everything a dog may need. From routine veterinary visits to lifesaving medical treatment, every donation and every helping hand makes a difference.
